With the arrival of Spring, getting out of bed has been somewhat challenging…let alone waking up our brain cells. So, we have decided to drink Gaia Bari Darjeeling at our studio today. There is a lovely story behind this tea.
This tea comes from a parcel of land called "Gaia Bari”. Our partner, Les Jardins de Gaia, has been supporting the producers to ensure the sustainability and quality of the teas. This tea is a perfect illustration of how they have collaborated with the producers. Also to thank JDG for installing an irrigating system, the Potong tea growing cooperative named this parcel “Gaia Bari” - in Nepali, it means garden of Gaia and in French, Jardin de Gaia.
This particular reference is the Second Flush - i.e. teas picked in the second growing season - and therefore the colour is light brown. It has a sweet floral nose and its infusions reveals notes of toasted bread, fruit paste and subtle hints of mace. An elegant creation, rare and dear to our hear!
Gaia Bari Darjeeling is black tea. It is generally known that black teas are rick in potent antioxidants, like theaflavins and thearubigens. Studies have shown that they can lower cholesterol and enhance cardiovascular benefits.
